Support for IMG's

Coast City Country General Practice Training (CCCGPT) is ready to offer IMG's the support they need to achieve Fellowship with either RACGP or ACCRM colleges.

As part of this support CCCGPT welcomes all IMG's to participate in the learning activities we have available.

Activities include:

  • Teleconference Tutorials
  • Day Release Programs - topics include Mental Health, Family Planning, Indigenous Health etc.
  • Pre Exam Workshops - includes mock exams

CCCGPT has a contract with the NSW Rural Doctors Network (RDN) to provide administration and provide medical education support to participants that receive funding from them as part of their Fellowship Support Program, however IMG's do not need to be a part of this program to receive our support.

If you are successful in gaining funding through the RDN Program to support you in achieving fellowship with either of the colleges you can expect to receive the following assistance.

Once CCCGPT has been notified by RDN that support is available to you, you will be contacted by us so that we can obtain the information on your qualifications and prior work experience.

Following the receipt of this information, we will schedule a visit by a medical educator (ME) with you in your practice, during which the ME will:

  • sit in with you observing a minimum of 4 patient consultations
  • spend up to one hour in discussion with you about your learning needs including completion of the Individual Learning Plan
  • recommend to you which fellowship exam would likely suit your circumstances, complement your clinical experience and facilitate your learning needs (this may happen as a follow up visit if the ME wants to seek advice from the appropriate college)
  • discuss the benefits of participation in our learning activities
