Supervisor Professional Development Requirements

GP Supervisors are required to attend Supervisor training under the RACGP standards and as part of their contract with CCCGPT.

  • Under the contract with CCCGPT, nominated Supervisors must participate in a minimum of four sessions of 'Supervisor Continuing Medical Education' per annum.
  • Additional Supervisors must undertake a minimum of two sessions of education per annum to maintain their accreditation (with the RACGP).
  • All Supervisors of Prevocational General Practice Placement Program (PGPPP) Junior Doctors (Interns and PGY2) must complete the two sessions per annum.

In 2010, CCCGPT extended the range of events counting toward this education requirement and these are listed below. Different Local Training Group regions have different events that cater to the specific needs of the local area and training environment.

Across CCCGPT different universities are also involved in running various Supervisor education activities. Contact your Local Training Group office to find out the dates of specific events within your region.
